Leaders allied to Kenya Kwanza Alliance have urged President Uhuru Kenyatta not to taint his reputation by engaging in transition politics.
Speaking in Limuru Kiambu County during the burial of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu’s Mother Monica Waititu, the lawmakers said President Kenyatta’s decision to openly campaign for opposition leader Raila Odinga exposed him to ridicule and mudslinging that comes with politics.
The leaders took a swipe at the President over his decision to endorse ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The leaders said it was unwise of the Head of State to delve into the succession politics.
Meanwhile a section of ODM MPs in Kilifi County has dismissed Governor Amason Kingi’s demands that the Azimio la Umoja coalition should support Pamoja African Alliance candidates in the coast region.
Led by Senator Steward Madzayo the lawmakers insisted ODM will field candidates in all positions in the coast region.
